advice on suitable tax planning measures. Inheritance Tax affects an increasing number of people in this country, and we offer advice to
individuals and families as to the ways in which assets can be protected from taxation, in lifetime and on death.
Our services include taking your instructions, preparing draft wills, either witnessing them for you or ensuring that they are correctly
witnessed and storing them on your behalf.
We have found that some clients put off making a Lasting Power of Attorney but there are many reasons for doing so. It can be very useful
if you are unwell or struggling with your day to day decision making or you get older you may decide that you would like help managing
your affairs. There are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) – a Personal Welfare LPA which authorises someone as your attorney to
make decisions about your personal welfare which includes healthcare and medical treatment and a Property and Affairs LPA
which authorises your attorney to act in relation to your property and financial affairs. Our services include taking your instructions,
preparing the draft forms for you to approve, witnessing your signatures where appropriate, writing to your attorneys with regard to their
obligations and acting as your certificate provider. Once the forms have been signed we will then make the application to the Office of the
Public Guardian in order to register them.
